Hello there. Welcome to Inkquiring Minds. My name is Doug, and I'm back with another pen resurrection Sunday video. Today on the slab, the dead fountain pen ready for resurrection is this 1933 Waterman's number three fountain pen in celluloid called Black Pearl.

I found this in a 1933 catalog from Waterman's. And this pen was made in the US. This is a medium-sized fountain pen. Here it is with a Pilot Metro, so it's slightly smaller than a Metro and slightly larger when it's posted. Let's take a look at this beautiful celluloid fountain pen and see what it needs to be resurrected.

THOUGHTS

So, what are my thoughts on this pen resurrection? Well, it exceeded my expectations. It was a grubby-looking pen, with micro scratches and a dull finish. But once polished, it looked brand new. The chrome plating on the Waterman’s gleamed like new. There was a tiny scratch on the clip and some corrosion visible under a magnifying glass on the lever, but the cap band was in perfect shape. The black pearl celluloid was simply glorious. What a beautiful pen! The best part? This flexible vintage 14 karat gold number two nib writes like a dream, with no pressure. It’s like writing with a feather. Nine decades ago, they truly knew how to make fountain pens.

If you’re interested in purchasing this 1933 Waterman’s number three lever fill fountain pen, I’m selling it for $180 US plus shipping. Just email inkquiringminds@gmail.com with your name and address, and I’ll provide a shipping quote and PayPal payment instructions. You can have this beautiful fountain pen for the lucrative gift-giving season or even just for yourself. That’s all for now. Thank you for watching!

And that's all she wrote.
