THIS PEN HAS SOLD!

Hello there! Welcome to my channel. My name is Doug, and I’m back with another fountain pen resurrection Sunday video.

Today, I have a very special and old pen to share. It’s a Waterman from 1925, making it 100 years old! I hope we all look this good when we’re 100. I recently found this pen in an antique shop and couldn’t resist it. It’s quite small, measuring about 4 1/2 inches long, or 11 1/2 centimetres, when capped. This is a Waterman 52 1/2 V, as indicated by the impressed text on the bottom.

THOUGHTS

So, what are my thoughts on this resurrection? Well, the most exciting part for me was finding the pen in the first place. When I discovered it at an antique store, I instantly knew it was a 1920s Waterman in excellent condition. However, it was quite overpriced. Fortunately, I was able to get it at a more reasonable price. Considering it was semi-restored, I think I got a good deal.

The resurrection was simple: just replacing the sac. What thrilled me was discovering that the section wasn’t black all around. It was just ink. The beautiful red colour on the feed was stunning. This old ink was simply on the pen. The nib, of course, shone up like new. And look at the flexible line you get with this lovely little pen.

This pen won’t be for everyone, of course. It’s very small, but posted, it’s relatively medium-sized. Here it is with a Pilot Banana for comparison. It’s not much shorter than the Pilot Banana. So, posted, the length shouldn’t be an issue for most people, even those with larger hands. However, it’s relatively thin, especially at the section. The entire pen with ink weighs only 10.3 grams.

Finally, let’s talk about the ebonite. The red striped ebonite is quite stunning when polished.

If you like thin, light, vintage fountain pens with a lot of flex, this pen might be just what you’re looking for.

If you’re interested in purchasing this pen, I’m selling it for $190 US plus shipping. If you’re interested, send me an email at incquiringminds@gmail.com with your name and address. I’ll get you a shipping quote and instructions on how to pay via PayPal.

Because we’re coming up on the lucrative gift-giving season, I’ve got three other resurrected fountain pens still for sale, and I’m reducing their prices. I have two Waterman Citations, one from 1947 and the other from 1945. I originally priced them at $140 each or $250 for the pair, but I’m reducing the price to $100 each or $180 for the pair. Additionally, I have a 1970 Parker 51 Aerometric with a gold-filled cap in black. I’m currently listing it for $125 US, but I’m reducing it to $90 US plus shipping. You can view all these pens on my Wix page, which I’ve linked in the description below. This page showcases all the pens I resurface for sale. If you’re interested in any of these fountain pens, please email me at inkquiringminds@gmail.com.

Thank you for watching.
