Hello there welcome to Inkquiring Minds my name is Doug and I'm back with another pen Resurrection Sunday video.

The last couple of Sundays I've resurrected two Parker Vacumatics; one from 1936 and one from 1940 in Golden Pearl and burgundy Pearl respectively. Both of those pens were Debutants and they sold almost immediately.

Those two pens and this one were part of an auction sale on eBay from an estate. I won all three pens within 5 minutes of each other! That was quite a coup for me.

This is the third in the series and this may be my favorite because it's my favorite color the Azure Blue Pearl. This one is not from that early first generation of the first two Vacumatics that I restored. Those were first-generation lockdown fillers this is a third-generation with a celluloid rod and a single jewel.

What I'd like to do is go over this pen take a look at it, and see what needs to be done to get it back into the world of the living.

THOUGHTS

So what do I think about this Resurrection?

This is the third in a trilogy of Parker Vacumatics from that estate sale. All three Pens have been gorgeous. All three pens came from a home where they were well-loved. They were only three of 25 or maybe even 30 vintage pens from all over the 1930s 40s 50s and different makes.

There were a lot of Parkers and whoever bought these pens when they were brand new loved them dearly. I think they were used well because all three pens had replaced latex diaphragms and functioned very well. Only one had serious nib issues.

This one was a real pain in the butt to try to get it to loosen up and get it to write properly. Everything else about this pen was just gorgeous. There were no nicks, gouges, or cracks, and it polished up beautifully. It looks as bright and beautiful and shiny as the day it was born in 1947.

I'm really really happy at how all three of these pens came out. I think I'm going to be taking a break from Parker Vacumatics. The Canada Post mail strike is over temporarily and maybe I'll get those brass converters for the Parker 51 aerometric that I ordered more than a month. I might be able to convert some of those Parker Aerometrics that I have waiting to convert.

I'm doing a lot of resurrecting and converting I'm wondering whether I should change my channel to Doug's Fountain Pen Church of the Resurrection! See me every Sunday and we'll resurrect and convert!

Of course, I already have a 1945 Azure Blue Pearl Vacumatic that has a custom ground stub nib on it and writes beautifully. This is a bit fine for me. So this pen is going to be sold.

I'm selling this pen for $200 us plus shipping.

THIS PEN IS SOLD!

Members get to see this video about 5 days early so if you're watching this video on Sunday this pen might already be sold!

And that just leaves it for me to say thank you for watching, and that's all she wrote!
